Board President- Alizah Lanthop
Alizah Lanthrop, a contemporary painter hailing from Maryland, brings a vibrant fusion of artistry and leadership to the forefront as our Board President. Alizah embarked on her artistic journey at Shepherd University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in May 2020. Her passion for art extends far beyond the canvas, as she aspires to forge a career in art administration, with a focus on gallery and studio ownership.
With a rich artistic background and an extensive network of fellow artists, Alizah is a formidable force in the art world. Her work has graced prestigious venues such as the Maryland Art Place in Baltimore, MD, the Washington County Arts Council, and the Engine Room Gallery in Hagerstown, MD. Alizah's artistic prowess has also earned her recognition, with two awards in the Juried Student Honors Exhibit at the Phaze 2 Gallery in Shepherdstown, WV.
Beyond her exhibition success, Alizah's creativity has found a literary platform as well. Her work has been featured in the esteemed Literary and Arts publication, Sans Merci, for two consecutive years, showcasing her multifaceted talents.
Alizah Lanthrop's unwavering dedication to the arts and her drive to support emerging artists make her an invaluable asset to our organization. With her at the helm as Board President, we're poised to cultivate artistic excellence and provide vital resources for the creative minds of tomorrow.
Board Secretary- Cherie McCord
Cherie McCord is a dedicated advocate for art and community enrichment, bringing her wealth of experience in both real estate and non-profit management to the Sodo Arts team. As the owner of Blooms Alley artisan marketplace, she's well-versed in the intricate world of small businesses and understands the importance of supporting emerging artists.
Cherie's passion for art and its transformative potential in communities is at the heart of her commitment to our organization. She believes that art has the power to inspire positive change, and she's dedicated to helping emerging artists find their voice and make a lasting impact in their communities.
With Cherie's expertise and unwavering dedication, Sodo Arts is better equipped to empower artists and foster creative entrepreneurs, making a difference one brushstroke at a time. We're proud to have her as our Board Secretary and are grateful for her invaluable contributions to our mission.
Board Treasurer- Alisa Campbell
Alisa Campbell, a local illustrator and a creative force to be reckoned with, is making waves in the world of art and design. Her journey began at Washington County Technical High School, where she honed her skills in computer game development and animation. Since then, she's continued to pave her artistic path, currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Southern New Hampshire University.
But Alisa's artistry doesn't stop at the classroom door. She's also a valuable Graphic Design assistant at UX Boxes, where she lends her talents to the world of user experience design. Her dedication to creating visually compelling and user-friendly designs shines through in her work.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Alisa shares her passion for illustration with the world through her YouTube channel, where she provides insights, tutorials, and a peek behind the scenes of her creative process. And if you're looking to bring a touch of Alisa's artistry into your life, you're in luck! She operates a delightful sticker shop on Etsy, where you can find unique and charming creations.
